Day 1 : Marrakech :
“Desert Camel Tours” invite you to explore Merzouga desert in 7-day Berber tour from Marrakech.
Pickup at the airport and transfer to the hotel. We recommend that at night you explore the medina where the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square is located. The square is a vivid marketplace where performers, narrators, and juggles get together to entertain the tourists.
Day 2: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – DRAA VALLEY – ZAGORA :
We pick you up in the morning in a 4×4 and depart to Zagora going through the Tizi n’Tichka path over the Atlas Mountains. We will head towards Aït Ben Haddou a famous village designated a world heritage site by the UNESCO. We will travel through the deserted landscape of the Draa Valley and reach Zagora late in the afternoon, have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3: ZAGORA – ROAD OF RALLY DAKAR – RAMLIA :
After breakfast we take the road that was formerly used by the famous “Paris–Dakar Rally”. We cross several remote Berber villages that are located alongside the Moroccan borders. We arrive to the small Berber village of Ramlia, where you will be able to feel the endless silence of the Moroccan desert. We will have dinner and spend the night in a typical guesthouse in the desert.
Day 4: RAMLIA – KHAMLIA – MERZOUGA DESERT :
Trips Around Morocco continues today. Following the off-road driving experience to Merzouga, we will visit the village of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians and have a Berber tea with them. Later on, arrive at the great Erg Chebbi sand dunes, where you will take a camel ride to get to the heart of the desert and be able to admire the beautiful sunset. You will have a delicious Berber dinner and spend the night in a nomad tent under a beautiful sky studded with stars.
Day 5: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY :
After sunrise and breakfast in the Sahara desert, we depart to Erfoud to visit the manufactures of fossilized marble. We will drive through the palm groves of Skoura and reach the Todra Gorge, the highest narrowest canyon in Morocco, where we will have lunch and walk through the Gorge to appreciate the wonderful landscape. In the afternoon we head towards the Dades Valley and stop at Boumalne de Dades to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: DADES VALLEY – ROSES VALLEY – MARRAKECH :
After breakfast we will take a short walk and enjoy a stunning panorama of the Dades Valley. We will follow the valley through Kalaat M’Gouna, the Valley of the Roses and the “One Thousand Kasbahs Road”. We will drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka path and arrive in Marrakech late in the afternoon. Dinner and night in a hotel.
Day 7: MARRAKECH AND FLIGHT BACK HOME :
After breakfast, we can visit some sites of historical and cultural interest, the souks in the medina and admire the different artisans and performers in the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. We will drive you to the airport for your flight back home.
