Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Welcome to Morocco
Upon arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, our guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can visit Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most stunning mosques in the world, or take a leisurely walk along the scenic Corniche. Overnight stay in Casablanca.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Here, we explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Next, we continue our journey to the blue city of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Stroll through its picturesque streets, famous for their blue-washed buildings. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Leaving Chefchaouen, we head towards Volubilis, an ancient Roman archaeological site, where you can explore well-preserved mosaics and ruins. Next, we visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, famous for Bab Mansour Gate, Sahrij Swani, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Later, we continue to Fes, the cultural capital of Morocco. Overnight in Fes.
Day 4: Exploring Fes – The Spiritual Capital
A full day to explore Fes, starting with a guided tour of the medina (Fes el-Bali), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest in the world, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the famous Chouara Tannery. Get lost in the maze-like streets filled with vibrant souks and historical landmarks. Overnight in Fes.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we journey south through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, we drive through the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel trek over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Overnight in a luxury desert camp with Berber music.
Day 6: Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomadic Families – Desert Exploration
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the desert surroundings by 4×4, visiting Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music, and meeting nomadic Berber families. You’ll also visit the oasis of Hassi Labied before returning to your desert camp for another night under the stars.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We leave the desert and visit Rissani, the ancient trading hub of Morocco, home to the famous souk (market). Next, we drive to the breathtaking Todra Gorges, a paradise for rock climbers. After exploring the deep canyons, we continue to Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and lush landscapes. Overnight in a charming guesthouse.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we drive through the scenic Roses Valley, famous for its rose festival in May. We continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit Atlas Film Studios and the historic Kasbah Taourirt. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
Today, we visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching the vibrant city of Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 10: Exploring Marrakech – The Red City
A full-day guided tour of Marrakech, including visits to the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. Explore the bustling souks and enjoy an authentic Moroccan experience. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira
We take a day trip to the coastal town of Essaouira, known for its medina, fortified walls, and beautiful beaches. Enjoy fresh seafood, explore the vibrant art scene, and walk along the harbor. Return to Marrakech for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Marrakech – Casablanca (Departure)
After breakfast, we transfer you back to Casablanca, where your 12-day desert tour comes to an end. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing before departure.
